Hi, I'm Annemarie Shrouder.

As a biracial person (who is also queer), I have been searching for belonging my whole life. Slowly, I'm discovering that connection is at the heart of it.

So, I'm on a journey.
At 56, in a career pivot, with a teenager, having just lost a parent and with the other living with Alzheimer’s - I’m exploring connection.

Connection to myself. To Spirit. To others. To the world around me.

It feels like an important adventure. Maybe even life-saving. At least life-affirming.

And because I’m a writer (who is finally allowing herself to be a writer) I want to share it.

With you.

I have 22 years of work experience as a facilitator and consultant that got me here. And you can read about that here if it interests you. This isn’t about work, though.

I know that connection builds community, and that community and belonging are linked. I bet you can feel that too. I also have experienced that the most powerful things we create, happen from the inside out. Because we have to feel something in order to understand it. We have to know something in order to share it. And we have to be it, in order to hold it.

And then the magic happens. From the inside, out.

So these will be my musings, my discoveries, my questions. I’ll probably share the occasional poem, because they arrive, unannounced, to support and guide me.
